The COVID-19 pandemic has still been spreading and the confirmed cases are also rising domestically. Although it has been controlled gradually, the variant virus spreads fast. Central Police University keeps track of the temperature and health condition of students during the weekdays and disseminates the anti-virus measures, such as maintaining the social distance, wearing facial masks, and washing hands frequently. In order to prevent the campus from being affected by the variant virus, students are required to complete the COVID-19 self-test before returning to campus after winter vacation. CPU also made efforts on getting students and faculties vaccinated at school to increase vaccination rate.
The project of group-vaccination at campus was agreed by CECC and instructed to co-organized with Department of Public Health, Taoyuan and the hospital nearby. It was arranged to be done in two batches with Department of Public Health and Taipei Veterans General Hospital Taoyuan Branch. The cadets and faculties could choose the vaccine brand (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna). They had their booster shots taken at Recreation Room in You-Yi Building on Friday March 4 and 11 at 2 PM to 4 PM. After this group-vaccination, the vaccination rate had risen from 37.9% to 62.0% since February 21.
President Chen came to visit and greet students. He appreciated that Taipei Veterans General Hospital Taoyuan Branch allocated the doctors, nurses, and administration staffs to campus for group-vaccination and professional medical assistance which made students and faculties to get vaccinated without inconvenience. CPU was grateful whole-hearted to the Minister of Ministry of the Interior Hsu, Kuo-yung, Political Deputy Minister of Ministry of Interior Chen, Zong-yan and Mayor of Taoyuan city Cheng, Wen-Tsan for assisting CPU in obtaining the two previous group-vaccination of the first and second doses and the booster’s this time. Cultivating future cadres is highly valued. Faculties and students are able to devote themselves to accomplish mission.
